Oh yeah, I had posted a design for him a few weeks ago, but I wasn’t happy with it so I privatized that post and redesigned him a whole bunch. I did end up posting the final to twitter though, just never got around to getting it here.
For children’s book illustration we were to pick a character from some sort of folklore or fairytale and design several different interpretations of them. I chose Pippi Longstocking and drew steampunk, horror/villain, army/mercenary, southern belle, hipster and sci-fi versions of her.
Lady Winter, second character design for my senior thesis project (to be paired with Lord Winter from last week). She really likes Alexander McQueen.
Alright so I’m getting down with my final semester of college and will be spending a good chunk of time working of my illustration thesis. I’m doing character design still, so for my project I decided to design personifications of the four seasons and then do some illustrations involving the characters.
Here’s the first design, for Winter. (though I still have a few things I’d like to revise) Also a face close up because I always think that detail/expression is lost in the resized version!

Ah you’ll have to view the fullsize for this one! After finishing The Way of Kings by Brandon Sanderson I kind of got an itch to design the characters, so I’ve been working on these on and off for the past few weeks. Shallan is my absolute favorite, and I’m pretty happy with her design! And there was no way Adolin wasn’t going to look like he just walked out of an anime.
