Part II of the Vices and Virtues series (see Part I here). “Temperare” is Latin for “Temperance”, or so I’m told. This one isn’t quite as fun as the first, but look. That waiter is totally smitten with her.
I kind of want to do a whole Homestuck Girls Pin Up Project where I do one of these a week, but I don’t know if that would bother people? I just like drawing pretty ladies okay? (And I think it goes without saying, but I obviously age them up 10 years.)
I don’t think making a pinup series is a bad idea at all - I love seeing the girls in a sexy and positive light, and this Aradia sketch is absolutely that. Heck, I love vintage pinups (My house will have a lot of them framed as art one day) and I think the girls would lend themselves well to the style.

Thank you! That is exactly my intention with this project. Pin ups obviously have their roots in catering to the male gaze, but I feel like the trope has evolved into something more than that, and become more about a celebration of vintage aesthetic, as well as depicting woman who relish and own their sexuality. They also have a tongue-in-cheek aspect to them, because really, what woman would wear thigh highs on an archaeological dig? Anyway, that’s at least the light in which I’d like to try and portray these pieces in, as well as taking the opportunity to flesh out my headcanon’s of the girls’ body types :)
