I thought it would be fun to show my process for this piece because sometimes shit doesn’t turn out at all like you planned and that’s cool.

how did you do the acrylic like background in your last picture?

It’s actually gouache paint! That picture is about a 50/50 combination of digital and traditional painting.

I missed 4/13 this year so have some belated Lalondes!

completely different anon but I'm feeling kinda bad right now because I really dont remember any mention of that ever. LOOK WHOS GOTTA GO REREAD THE BOOKS AGAIN

Actually ok I’m going to elaborate on this before I get one million asks because I’ve really got to head to bed so

I don’t in fact recall them being referred to as dark skinned directly but also I don’t remember them being referred to as white and ALSO I don’t remember every line of description from all seven books

but I see no problem with my interpreting his character that way if that’s how I picture him I mean my art is kind of about my own interpretation of things anyway. That’s sort of the point of this whole thing.

Dear anon, the books describe Sirius AND Bellatrix as dark-skinned...

:)

You know Sirius Black isn't actually black, right?

He is.

are you open to criticism or even just subtle notices?

I suppose, if put kindly enough and not with malicious intent, I am ok with it. I reserve every right to stubbornly disagree but you are welcome to hit me with what you got.

I’ve been nostalgic for old ships lately and figured it’d be fun to draw young Remus and Sirius in my current style :)

Do you draw on paper, and then scan it into photoshop and then add the colours? Or do you do it all on photoshop?

First option! I’m not so great at working out ideas on photoshop, I typically need something more tangible for that.
